Instructor or Assistant Professor - Medical Laboratory Science


Oregon Tech invites applications for an Instructor or tenure-track Assistant Professor position within the Department of Medical Laboratory Science (MLS). This is a 12-month faculty, full-time position located on the Wilsonville, Oregon campus. The successful candidate will be a MLS generalist that can teach and assist in all areas of the curriculum. About the Department:

Oregon Tech, in partnership with Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), offers a course of study leading to a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science degree. Students take coursework that combines a rigorous competency-based science curriculum with community-sponsored clinical training. The mission of the Oregon Tech-OHSU Medical Laboratory Science Program is to educate, train, and graduate professionally competent and ethical individuals, committed to life-long learning, and who are prepared to meet current and future workplace challenges in medical laboratory science.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
  • Current nationally recognized certification in laboratory science.
  • Three (3) years of medical laboratory work experience within the last 7 years.
  • Experience in teaching at the undergraduate level in both didactic and laboratory courses.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in medical laboratory science or related field.
  • Possess an ASCP certification.
  • Experience in immunohematology, transfusion medicine and laboratory management.
