Computer Use
The library has a number of computers available for use by students, staff, and public. All computers on the main floor of the library can access the Library's homepage and the Internet. They are primarily for academic use by Oregon Tech students, staff, or faculty. However if there are available workstations, the general public is welcome to use them.
The computers in the six study rooms are the only computers in the library that are for student use only. They are not available to the general public. Study Room 1 is designated for those low-vision students needing aid in accessing printed materials. The room is equipped with a Clear View image enlargement setup. Study Rooms 2 and 3 are designated for viewing VCR tapes. The computers in the six study rooms are able to view DVD disc and have speakers.
For all users, we ask that you try to limit usage to 1 hour.
The library has designated one computer workstation for users needing wheelchair access or low-vision adapative software . Though others can use this computer, you are required to surrender it should a user with special needs require it. This computer also has a cd r/w and a dvd player installed.
All the computers on the main floor print to the two network printer located on the main floor. Those who have not paid the Technology Fee at the beginning of the term (including Oregon Tech staff, Oregon Tech faculty and the general public) are required to pay 15 cents per page (double-sided).
The Library also has a color printer available and the cost is 25 cents per page. The print out can be picked up at the Circulation desk.
