Database Access Problems
“Out of Searches”
Some of our FirstSearch databases are paid for on a “per search” basis. The library pays $1.05 for each search in blocks of 500. Currently we are out of searches though we are working on purchasing more. If you are interested in a business database, please try out Business Source Premier, Business & Company Resource Center, Standard & Poor’s, and LexisNexis Academic.
Occasionally after you login to go to LexisNexis, you will get a second login request. This is from the company and will not recognize you. If this happens, click on the Back button and login to Oregon Tech again. This usually will let you in.
Database Login Problems
If you fail to get into a database with your regular Oregon Tech email username and password, try adding @oit.edu to your username (Your.Name@oit.edu instead of just Your.Name).
You may also need to use your original (default) password: first initial first name, first initial last name, last four digits of your social security number.
