Six Sign with OIT for Track, Cross Country

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech men’s and women’s track and field and cross country teams announced recently the signing of six athletes to National Letters of Intent.

Five of the signees are in-state recruits with one from Hawaii.

James Pearson, of a HP Baldwin High School in Wailuku, Hawaii, heads into his senior season after an 8th place showing at last year’s state meet in the 1500 meter race as a junior.  Connor Deveruex of Marshfield High School placed 25th at the 5A cross country championship this past fall and finished 6th in the 1500 at last year’s track and field championship.  Brennan Holmes of Springfield High School in Springfield, Ore. had a 20th place finish at the 2012 5A cross country championship and will also be competing in track at Oregon Tech next spring. 

Locals competing for the Owls this fall include Todd Delaney of Mazama High School, Adam Arrington of Paisley and Colton George of La Pine.  Delaney finished 12th at the 4A cross country championship this past fall and will also compete in the track program for the Owls.  Arrington placed 5th in the pole vault as junior for Paisley High School at last year’s 1A championship, while George, during his junior season at La Pine High School, placed 2nd in 110 hurdles and 7th in the 300 hurdles at last year’s 4A state championships.
