Garlitz Sets School Record in Marathon For Tech
MARION, Ind. – Long distance runner Kirby Garlitz, a junior from Klamath Falls, Ore. crushed the Oregon Tech school record by more than 20 minutes, finishing in a time of 2:39:22.90 at the 2013 NAIA National Track & Field Championship as he competed in the marathon early this morning. In the field of 51 runners Garlitz finished 23rd in the long grueling race.
Eight Oregon Tech athletes competed at the national meet that began on Thursday and closed out today.
