Five from Diamond Named NAIA Scholar-Athlete
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A total of five student-athletes from the Oregon Tech softball and
baseball squads were recently named 2013 NAIA Scholar-Athletes,
announced recently by the national office.
Three Oregon Tech baseball athletes were selected, as Ryan Hayden, Dustin Norman and Dylan Rogers earned the award this season. Hayden became a two-time recipient of the having made the list last year.
Seniors Elise Goodell and Taylor Schmidt made the list off the softball team. Goodell is a two-time recipient with Schmidt named to the list for her first time.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
