Oregon Tech Dental Hygiene HIV Outreach
July 25, 2013, SALEM, ORE. – In an effort to provide dental care to even more people in need, Oregon Tech, through its dental clinic at Chemeketa Community College, has entered into an agreement with Lane Community College (LCC) to provide oral health care to those living with HIV and AIDS.
As a leader in teaching dental hygienists, Oregon Tech is proud to form this relationship with LCC, which has a proven record of offering specialized dental services to persons living with HIV/AIDS. Oregon Tech Dental Hygiene students will continue their work, performing preventative maintenance, x-rays, and cleanings, while LCC dental assistants or dentists will perform any restorative work. This partnership serves people living with HIV in Marion, Polk, Linn, and Benton Counties.
Through the expertise of dedicated student dental hygienists, licensed dental hygiene faculty, and clinic dentists, the Dental Hygiene Clinic serves hundreds of people each year. The clinic is open to the general public and provides services for both adults and children, with bilingual services in Spanish.
