Why did you choose Oregon Tech Online?

Being an athlete, working full time, and now being married, online was the best option for me because I can take it with me wherever I go. Putting myself through college requires me working full-time, so being able to do my homework during a down time at work was beneficial for me. Also being an athlete, I am able to play and coach as well as doing school on the road.

What do you like best about your major?

I love that I have awesome teachers who are so devoted to psychology that it makes it so easy to learn. I love that I am able to learn just as much online as I was in the classroom and I still feel like I am in lectures, but I am able to do it on my own time.

What has been the greatest aspect of completing your degree online?

I am able to work at my own pace from wherever I want. I am also able to still communicate with teachers and students on the online discussion boards as if I were in class. I am also able to work, travel, play soccer, but also do my schooling. I also love the online videos, blogs, and research I am able to do from my computer.

What career do you hope to have after you graduate from Oregon Tech?

I hope to be a sports psychologist so that I am able to to continue my love for sports but also do my newfound love which is psychology.

Do you have any advice for incoming students?

My advice would be to not be afraid to email teachers or students if you do not understand something. Also, make sure you check due dates because they are not verbalized to you as they are in the classroom. Also, interacting with students in the discussion section of the class allows you to interact as if you were face to face and provides so many new thoughts and ideas about the topics being discussed.
