Irl Davis

Irl M. Davis (OIT alum 1971 BEET) Author of "An American Entrepreneur in Asia" has lectured at Universities in South American, Turkey, China and the USA. Mr. Davis has conducted business in over 17 different countries and has been doing business in China since 1984. He has lectured at the United States Embassies in Colombia, the National Lt. Governors Convention (2006) and the UW Global Business Forum. Mr. Davis was appointed by the Governor of Washington to serve on the Global Competitive Council and was awarded the States "Marco Polo Award" in 2005 for his success in international trade. Bryan Fischer

Bryan R. Fischer, author of The Journeyman's Guide to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing: GD&T for the New Millennium is an adjunct faculty member at OIT, a nationally renowned expert and author on GD&T, and a Member of the Support Group for the ASME Y14.5 Sub-Committee, which is responsible for developing the standard on GD&T.

John Geyer

John Geyer is an electric-industry marketing consultant, based in Vancouver, Washington. Involved with renewable and efficient energy technologies since the oil embargo of 1973, John has been closely tied to U.S. utility industry changes since 1987 (i.e. deregulation and wholesale marketing). After 13 years of renewable energy work for U.S.D.A., Forest Service and nine years leading geothermal and wind programs for U.S. Department of Energy's Bonneville Power Administration, he has spent 20 years as an independent consultant. In the latter role, Mr. Geyer has been a West-wide leader in geothermal heat pump market development since 1992. Work since 1998 has been exclusively geothermal heating and cooling.

John is a founder and principal of Sound Geothermal and Northwest Geothermal corporations and co-designer of the Western Regional Training Center in Davis, CA. He is a Certified Geothermal Designer and national trainer for the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association. Mr. Geyer has served as factory representative for HDPE geothermal products from Chevron-Phillips Chemical Company's Performance Pipe and Wesflex Manufacturing and territory sales manager for other geothermal products and services. While not aligned with any single heat pump manufacturer, he provides turnkey soil conductivity testing, training and design support to architects and engineers. John has a B.S. in Forestry from Oregon State University and a M.S. in Management from Marylhurst College.

Lawrence Wolf

Lawrence J. Wolf is a professor of the Oregon Institute of Technology and a distinguished service professor of the Oregon University System.
After experience in the army and the aircraft, petroleum, and chemical industries, he began his academic career in 1964 as the founding head of the MET program at the St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley. As a research fellow he completed his doctorate in engineering at Washington University and then became an associate professor at the University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia from 1972 to 1974. He was appointed a dean at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, directing a joint project with MIT in Iran, after which he returned to St. Louis in 1975 as the associate dean of instruction. He headed the Department of Manufacturing Engineering Technologies and Supervision at Purdue University, Calumet, from 1978 to 1980, then served for ten years as the dean of the College of Technology of the University of Houston. After a sabbatical year working on the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory, Wolf became the president of Oregon Institute of Technology. He retired from administration in 1998, designated as a president emeritus. He then served a sabbatical year with the Boeing Company extending the BS in MfgET program to the Seattle sites and working with Product Life Management software in design and manufacturing. He teaches now in Portland and continues to be active internationally and of service to other universities, industry, and government.

Wolf received his B.S. and M.S. in mechanical engineering and his DSc in structural engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a member of the ASME and of the SME. He is an elected fellow of the ASEE, ASME, and ABET. From the ASEE he has received the McGraw Award, a Centennial Award, and the Distinguished Service Award. He is a member of Sigma Xi, Pi Tau Sigma, Tau Alpha Pi, Epsilon Pi Tau, and the AAUP. In 06 he was named a life member of the ASEE. In 07 he was elected a life fellow of the ASME, and received an EngineeringVISION Award from Engineering.com.

He has over 60 publications the most recent being as a contributing author and steering committee member for the newly released ABET 75th Anniversary Retrospective. ISBN 978-0-9799910-0-4.

In his capacity as a distinguished service professor of the Oregon University System, Wolf currently serves on the Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Technology Vision and Body of Knowledge Study of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He also serves on the Manufacturing Engineering Leadership Forum of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
