Advancing Knowledge, Transforming Lives

The Department of Pre-College Programs at Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) offers educational outreach programs to students from elementary through high school in the spirit of encouraging young people to pursue high educational goals and aspire to a college education.

Programs often target activities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Delivery occurs on the Klamath Falls campus as well as on location in schools throughout the state. The programs introduce participants to role models and mentors and use hands-on activities to build self-confidence, technical skills, and creative problem solving. Collaborative learning promotes teamwork and group communication skills. Students, teachers, and parents experience the relationship between science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines and their applications to everyday life.
