About the Program
In Environmental Sciences, you can combine your interest in science and math with your knack for problem solving to help study and manage the Earth's natural resources and ecology. You'll apply state-of-the-art instruments and analysis to environmental problems while conducitng field work in the natural habitats surrounding campus: Crater Lake, the Cascade Mountains, Upper Klamath Lake, geothermal wells, lava flows, high-desert praries, riparian areas and canyons. Two technical emphases are offered: Watershed Science and Geographic Information Systems. The program builds on three cores: environmental science, basic sciences and mathematics. Our graduates are actively recruited by major federal agencies, including the Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, as well as private employers.
