LEGO Beginners: Building Blocks

Dates:  June 17-21, 2013
Times: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Location:  Oregon Tech Klamath Falls Campus

Ages:  8 - 12 years (minimum age is 8; no previous experience required)

Child must meet age requirements on or before the first day of camp. No exceptions to age limits.

Goals:  Students will engage in activities that enhance personal creativity, ability to follow instructions, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving, critical thinking proficiency and communication in a team environment.

Format:  The camp is 1/2 day camp from 9-1pm Monday - Friday.  Each day builds upon skills learned the previous day and preparing students to attend the more advanced camp, LEGO Challenge.  Students will be provided with a light mid-morning snack each day of the camp.  Awards will be handed out the final day of the camp. 

CAMP TUITION:

LEGO Beginners OR LEGO Challenge camp:  $155 per camper
(additional camper from the same family $130)

LEGO Beginners AND Challenge camp:  $235 per camper
(additional camper from the same family $185)

*please note tuition includes a $25 non-refundable registration fee due at the time of application.

LEGO Challenge

Dates:  June 24-28, 2013

Times: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Location:  Oregon Tech Klamath Falls Campus

Ages:  10 - 14 years (minimum age is 10; previous experience required-LEGO Beginners, other LEGO camps, previous class, First LEGO League Tournament)

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE IN MINIMUM AGE PER FACILITATOR. Child must meet age requirements on or before the first day of camp. No exceptions to age limits.

Goals:  Hands-on active learning through structured lessons and challenges that introduce students to programming topics, basic physics and scientific principles.  At the completion of the camps, students will have deepened their personal creativity through working with teams to critically solve problems.

Format:  The camp is a 1/2 day camp from 9-1pm Monday-Friday.  Each day will expose students to a variety of science, technology, engineering and mathematics concepts.  Students will be provided a light mid-morning snack each day of the camp.  Awards will be handed out to each student the last day of the camp.

CAMP TUITION:

LEGO Beginners OR LEGO Challenge camp:  $155 per camper
