New Student Orientation

Hooties Halloo orientation at Oregon Tech

Hootie's Halloo 2011

September 22 - 24th

New Student Orientation, known at Oregon Tech as Hootie's Halloo, is held each year on the weekend preceding the start of fall term classes. Halloo means to urge on or pursue by calling "halloo" or shouting, thus, Hootie's Halloo was born. It is an event strictly based on having fun and having a stress free weekend before the first day of school. Benefits for students who come to Orientation are:

  • Free meals for the weekend
  • Free shirt
  • Free Concert
  • Chance to win prizes
  • Meet fellow new/transfer students
  • Meet Staff and returning students from their major
  • Have a discounted shopping spree at Kmart
  • Get to know the ins and outs of campus
  • Meet Dave Coleman - The real life Hitch

Students who participate in Hootie's Halloo have an easier first term of college and enjoy Oregon Tech much much more! View the 2011 Weekend Schedule of events.
