Student Success Center Formation
The Student Success Center opened its doors to students during fall 2008 after a very busy summer of preparation. The Center for Learning & Teaching (CFLAT) joined with the Technical Opportunities Program (TOP) and Disability Services (DS) to streamline services provided to students on the Klamath Falls campus. The goal is to provide students with easier access to services they need with less duplication and service overlaps.
In Winter 2010, Career Services (CS) joined the SSC family of programs. Career Services is available to all students. Services include: individual career advising; workshops and classroom presentations on resume writing, job interviewing, job search and applying to graduate school; on-campus employer recruitment, whereby companies and government agencies interview students for career and internship opportunities; Career Fairs, which bring employers and students together on campus to discuss career opportunities informally; career resource materials and job listings; and a resume referral service, which supports student applications for employment and graduate school.
In Fall 2011, Youth Programs joined the fun of our department. This program focuses on pre-college age students and coordinates a variety of events for these students including MATHCOUNTS and summer camps.
You may reach the Center through the Office Manager at 851-5179 or the programs directly at CFLAT 885-1791, TOP 885-1125, DS 885-1031, or CS 885-1020. Or stop by our central reception office at LRC 228.
