ACAD

Welcome to ACAD (Academic Success)

Classes offered through the Center for Learning and Teaching (CFLAT) at Oregon Tech!

ACAD Courses are designed to help students connect and succeed.  ACAD courses are offered at a reduced tuition rate ($50 per credit) and count as General Elective courses.

ACAD 101 ~ Student Success Seminar

ACAD 101 classes are OPEN TO ALL NEW STUDENTS.  Instructors assist individual students in defining and pursuing academic goals.  Also built into the ACAD 101 curriculum is a reading skills improvement component.  The ACAD 101 class focuses on elements of success such as utilization of resources, campus services, university information, study skills strategies, establishing connections with faculty and advisors, and much more!

ACAD 105 ~ Achieving Academic Success

ACAD 105 classes are OPEN TO ALL TRANSFER AND CONTINUING Oregon Tech STUDENTS.  Students will explore the skills and thought processes necessary for success in college.  Students in ACAD 105 develop further success skills such as self-discipline, goal setting, and time management.  Academic mentors meet with students throughout the term to foster additional academic success.  Many students report this mentoring component to be one of the most valuable aspects of the class.

ACAD 207 ~ Career Exploration

ACAD 207 classes offer students the chance to explore themselves and their majors and careers of choice.  Students seeking direction or clarification in their choice of major or career will benefit greatly from this class.  ACAD 207 students will be involved in self-assessment, guided reflection, and exploratory exercises of the world of work.
