Testing Information

For your information:

  • Students must show picture identification prior to any administration.
  • CFLAT assumes you intend for items to be available during business hours; days CFLAT is closed (i.e. Saturday) will be excluded.
  • “Open Book” is assumed to mean the text and anything written on or adhered to the actual text pages.
  • If allowed, CFLAT is not responsible for testing material written on notes you allow students to use during testing administrations.
  • If personal calculator is allowed, CFLAT is not responsible for content stored in calculator.
  • If a student disputes recorded instructions, CFLAT will attempt to contact you and student will choose whether to proceed under current administration instructions or wait for further clarification.
  • If you have multiple items (i.e. Test 1, Test 2, Final), be sure to clearly label materials or inform staff when you deliver items so CFLAT can correctly file and administer items.
  • If you choose to pick up items from CFLAT (rather than having them delivered via campus mail), be advised that CFLAT will return unclaimed items to your office after two weeks. CFLAT is not responsible for undelivered mail, though we work closely with the DRC to ensure test security procedures are in place.

Discretionary Judgment:

On occasion, there may be a need for CFLAT to make a judgment call regarding interpretation of your instructions. For example, the student insists that you would allow them the use of a protractor, but you did not indicate this on the information form. If you wish to allow CFLAT office staff to make decisions regarding discrepancies, please let us know by signing below. CFLAT will try to reach you prior to making a decision. If you are unavailable, CFLAT will inform you of the discrepancy and ultimate decision by phone/email or on the information included with the testing materials. CFLAT will inform the student of the assumptions and warn them that the professor reserves the right to invalidate the test/exam for violation of intended instructions. Students who disagree with the decision or are unwilling to comply with CFLAT instructions will be advised to not begin testing until they can reach you for clarification.
