Student Success

CFLAT Tutoring

CFLAT offers free tutoring for all Oregon Tech students. Tutors are available for math, writing, physics, chemistry, speech, A&P, and other subjects. Visit the Tutoring page.

CFLAT Testing

Students may use CFLAT to take exams or review materials when class attendance is not, for whatever reason, an option. Testing in CFLAT is at the discretion of the professor. Use of CFLAT proctor services implies agreement and consent to all CFLAT testing rules and procedures. Students are expected to show their student ID. Absolutely no cell phones or other paging/electronic devices are allowed during testing or review. CFLAT will follow instructions and procedures as set forth by our department as well as by your instructor. Academic Success Classes

These classes are structured to help students develop the skills and understanding necessary to find success within the academic environment. 

ACAD 101: Student Success Seminar
A 2-credit class, ACAD 101 can be thought of as an extended orientation that enables new students to make a successful transition to college and the Oregon Tech community. Emphasis is on interactive learning, awareness of campus resources, and development of study skills. Important connections are made with other new students, Oregon Tech faculty members and junior/senior student leaders. In addition, career and academic goals are clarified.

ACAD 105: Achieving Academic Success
A 2-credit class for students who want to learn about and use strategies for success in the classroom. Emphasis is on attitudes, behaviors, and specific study strategies leading to academic success. This class is appropriate for new and returning students who have a strong desire to improve their chances of academic success at Oregon Tech.

ACAD 207: Career Exploration
The Career exploration class is a one credit, course offered at various times during the academic year (Consult the current class schedule for more information on offerings). The purpose of the course is to help students clarify their major choice and career direction. The course utilizes the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the System of Interactive Guidance Information (SIGI).
