Withdraw from Classes

Oregon Tech Seattle follows the Oregon Tech campus refund policy and deadlines for dropping/withdrawing from courses as listed below.

Once you are registered in courses, you are fully responsible for the tuition and fees. Courses dropped before the fifth calendar day of the term (Friday) at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time are not billed, and the student is not responsible for any tuition and fees from the dropped class. (If the dropped class is a Saturday class the student has until the sixth day of term to drop without charge. All billings are sent out on the 28th day of term.

To drop a course -- send an email or fax with name, student ID#, BEMSID #, Course Number and Title to scott.newsome@oit.edu., or fax to 425-965-1514.

Courses dropped after the fifth (sixth day for a Saturday class) day of the term will be billed a partial tuition amount calculated according to the refund schedule listed below. Please note that the summer term refund schedule is pro-rated to eight weeks. For further information about summer term refunds, please contact the OIT-Seattle Program office at 425-965-9707.

Refund/Billing deadlines

The Oregon Tech refund/billing schedule is listed below.

Before the close of the fifth calendar day of the term (Friday) at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time - No charge for classes.
Before the close of the 12th calendar day of the term, 15% of tuition is billed.
Before the close of the 19th calendar day of the term, 50% of tuition is billed.
Before the close of the 26th calendar day of the term, 75% of tuition is billed.
After the 26th calendar day of the term, 100% of the tuition cost is billed.

This schedule starts the day classes begin for the term.

Summer Withdrawal/Billing Fees:

The Oregon Tech refund schedule for summer is pro-rated to the eight week session. The deadlines for course withdrawals and associated refunds for the summer 2009 term are listed below.

Before the close of business at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Savings time on June 26, 2009, no charge.
Before the close of business at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Savings time on July 2, 2009, 15% is billed.
Before the close of business at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Savings time on July 10, 2009, 50% is billed.
Before the close of business at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Savings time on July 17, 2009, 75% is billed
After July 17, 2009, full amount billed.
