Jake Tiefel began working for The Boeing Company as a journeyman machinist in November of 1972, earning Boeing Development’s Manufacturing Master Craftsman of the Year award in 1987. In 1987 he moved to Boeing’s High Tech Center in Bellevue to work directly with engineers, in their precision machine shop, on manufacturing techniques for 757/767 “Fly by Wire” program. Transferring to Kent space center, Jake transitioned from machining into CNC programming and NC programming and earned Boeing Space and Defense Manufacturing employee of the year in 1997. As an MP&P Technical Analyist providing manufacturing support for PSD Jake has continued to pursue his goal of life-long learning. In 2002 Jake joined the adjunct faculty of the OIT-Boeing Program .
