Major: Management, Marketing & Small Business Management Options
Hometown: Klamath Falls, OR
I chose Oregon Tech because of its small campus size, how close it was to home and the opportunities I had to have real hands-on experience within the classrooms. For my major specifically, it’s nice to be able to brainstorm with classmates, work on projects and actually see them make a difference in the Klamath Falls community.
I like the diversity of my major more than anything. The Management department prepares you to work in just about any industry you want to. Rather than teaching you about how to do one thing, you learn how to utilize your skills and alter them to wherever you work. The best thing about my major? None of my classes have more than 10 students, so I can always count on building a relationship with my professor in that class.
I am most involved with on campus include: ASOIT (student government), OTSMA (Business club), and am a huge advocate of supporting Oregon Tech athletics. Because of Oregon Tech’s small size, I can be involved in a great deal of things on campus, while always getting the most out of it that I can.
I want to work in a career that allows me to be really involved in helping people and allows me to use my creativity to the fullest. While I do not have a specific job in mind, I know that one of the pre-reqs to it is that it has to be something I can see myself enjoy doing.
