2018 Student Success Conference

It takes a village: Sharing best practices for students success.



The Oregon Tech Student Success Center is pleased to announce the first ever Student Success Conference set to take place on Saturday, April 7th, 2018. This conference will bring together faculty, staff, and students who desire to enrich the undergraduate experience—especially for our unique population of non-traditional and underrepresented students.

This is an opportunity to discuss the challenges these students face and the practices that are making a difference to their success at Oregon Tech. Attendance is open to all Oregon Tech faculty, staff, and students who wish to learn more about the initiatives driving collaborative learning and student success.

Goals


  1. Foster a student-focused culture on campus that engages and includes our non-traditional and underrepresented student populations.
  2. Energize the campus community by sharing best practices for student success.
  3. Break organizational silos and foster cross-campus collaborations focused on student success.

All Oregon Tech students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend. Please register by March 15, 2018.

Call for Presentations


The Oregon Tech Student Success Center is pleased to announce its call for presentations for the 2018 Student Success Conference. You are invited to submit a presentation proposal that fits within the scope of this year’s theme. The deadline to submit proposals for presentations is February 28th, 2018.

Theme: It takes a village: Sharing best practices for student success

Presentation guidelines:

  1. Presentations should align with the conference theme and goals.
  2. Presentations should focus on the best practices for supporting non-traditional and underrepresented students at Oregon Tech.
  3. Presentation formats can include lecture, panel discussions, small groups sessions, poster presentations, or other proposed formats. 
  4. Presentation proposals can be submitted by Oregon Tech faculty, staff and students.Collaborative presentations by faculty, staff and students are welcome and encouraged.
  5. Presentations should be less than 60 minutes.

Can Faculty, staff, and students from campuses other than Klamath Falls attend the conference?

Yes. Faculty, staff and students from all Oregon Tech campuses are welcome to attend the Student Success Conference. 

Are there any Student Success Conference fees?

No. The Student Success Conference is free to all Oregon Tech students, staff and faculty.

Would I be able to volunteer at the conference without a presentation?

Where can I find the conference program?

The conference program will be available on this website in March.
