Why did you choose Oregon Tech?
I chose Oregon Tech because it was the only school in Oregon that offered my major, Embedded Systems Engineering Technology. Before coming to Oregon Tech I knew it was one of the top Tech Schools in the nation, and I knew there would be much smaller class sizes than other schools I looked at. From those reasons alone, I knew I would be coming to Klamath Falls.
What do you like best about your major?
One thing I love about my major, is that once I graduate I can work in almost any field I want. I can work with Automobiles, Robots, Medical Technology, Mobile Phone Hardware, or pretty much anything that has electronics in it. This is why a CSET degree is so powerful.
What would be your dream job in your major?
My ideal job is to be an Embedded Systems Engineer for a Professional Auto Racing Team. This has been my dream since I was in middle school and also one of the main reasons I came to Oregon Tech. Race cars today have hundreds of sensors for data acquisition, and as a CSET major I love to interface sensors.
What’s your favorite thing to do off campus?
When I am off campus and actually have free time, I am at a race track for a track day, watching racing at home, or working on the Oregon Tech Formula SAE race car. If I am not working on anything school related, I am around race cars for sure.
What’s your most memorable moment on campus?
My most memorable moment on campus was when the Oregon Tech Formula SAE club started up the 2012-2013 race car for the first time. To see a car that was a design on paper in October of 2012 to a full blown competition ready race car in May of 2013 was a great accomplishment for the members. We have put in hundreds of hours to get this car ready, and it shows the level of Engineering here at Oregon Tech.
