Why did you choose Oregon Tech?

I was drawn to the fact that the MSREE program is the first of its kind in the United States. The curriculum offered at Oregon Tech really matched my career goals, so there was no doubt in my mind that Oregon Tech was the right choice for me. Additionally, I noticed that the faculty at Oregon Tech has a wide range of experience in the professional world, and that is appealing to me.

What do you like best about your major?

The broadness and versatility of classes offered within the program. Because I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, this program is the perfect fit for me, since I am finally applying the theories that I studied during my undergrad in the useful projects that I am currently involved in.

What would be your dream job in your major?

Working as a consultant has always been my dream job. I would love the flexibility of reporting to myself and holding myself accountable for my work as a consultant.

What’s your favorite thing to do off campus?

I’m always exploring and enjoying one of the many activities that the Great Outdoors of the Northwest has to offer. Also, the campus in Wilsonville is convenient for enjoying the spirit of Portland - farmer’s markets, micro-breweries and food carts.

What’s your most memorable moment on campus?

When some fellow students and I were able to charge a cell phone from a solar panel using a simple circuit that we designed.
