Graduation Ceremony Information

Oregon Tech Portland's Graduation Ceremony will be held on June 9th, 2013.
Oregon Tech's Graduation will be held at:
Tiffany Center
1410 SW Morrison St.
Portland, OR 97205 Ceremony Begins at 4pm. Graduates need to be there by 3:30pm!

Oregon Institute of Technology's Portland campus graduation ceremony is held in June each year, at which time degrees are granted to all who have satisfactorily completed appropriate degree requirements during the preceding academic year. No person will be certified for graduation until all fees and charges due to the college have been paid.
Graduation Fairs
This is an important event for all Graduates. At the fair you can order graduation announcements, cap and gown (available at fair), diploma frames, Stole of Gratitude and graduation gifts from the Bookstore. You can also order class rings from Jostens, talk with our Registrar about your final classes at Oregon Tech, and meet with Career Services to discuss your future plans.

What do you need to do before you graduate?
1. Check Your Degree Works Audit (undergrads only)
(Undergraduate students only. Graduate students will not have a DegreeWorks audit.)
2. Meet with Your Advisor
Meet with your advisor, they will run an electronic degree audit for you and check your progress toward a degree.
Note: Oregon Tech is in the process of transitioning from paper/hard copy petitions to online/electronic petitions. Paper/hard copy petitions are also available. Your petition to graduate should be submitted at least 2 terms prior to anticipated degree completion.
Distance Education Students: Students in the online degree completion programs offered through Oregon Tech's Distance Education Department should contact diana.evans@oit.edu two terms before graduation for correct applications and petitions.
3. Submit an Application for Degree
Students seeking an Oregon Tech degree must submit an
application for degree at least two terms prior to anticipated degree completion.4. Register for Commencement
An email will be sent to all graduating students with instructions on how to RSVP to Graduation. If you receive the invittation, but DO NOT plan on attending graduation, please contact the Assiatant Registar at
anne.malinowski@oit.edu. The Registrar's Office will mail your diploma to you, please ensure you have updated your current address.
5. Complete an Exit Interview & Clear Your Holds
All graduating seniors who have loans must participate in an exit interview in order to graduate.
Students should check their account for holds before graduation. Those who have holds placed on their accounts will not be given their diplomas (review the diploma release policy). Holds can result from very small charges, such as library fines or medicinal charges at the Student Health Center. Students can ensure that their accounts are free of holds on Web for Student.
6. Complete Degree Requirements
Requirements for associates and bachelors degrees at Oregon Institute of Technology are determined by, and vary with, academic departments. Curricular requirements for each degree can be found in the
catalog under each department.
Important Tips to a Smooth Graduation
- You need to fill out your Petition to Graduate with your Advisor.
- Petitions to Graduate are due to the Registrar's Office two terms prior to degree completion.
