Electronics Engineering Technology

At Oregon Tech we offer the only ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (BSEET) in the State of Oregon. This program is critical in the State since it provides the only transferability opportunity towards a BS degree for graduates of Associate of Applied Science programs in Electronics Technology, Microelectronics, and related programs offered at our Community Colleges.
Oregon Tech has articulation agreements with all the accredited Electronics Engineering Technology and related programs in the state in order to guarantee a seamless transferability of credits towards our BSEET degree.

Our Program

Electronics Engineering Technology
The curriculum, content, and rigor of our ABET accredited BS degree in Electronics Engineering Technology closely matches our BS degree in Electrical Engineering, but has been designed to offer excellent transferability and degree completion opportunities for students who have already completed lower division coursework in Electronics Engineering Technology, Microelectronics Technology, or related technology programs.

The program is designed to prepare graduates to assume engineering and technology positions in the electronics industry. Recent graduates have been employed at companies such as MAXIM, Tektronix, and Intel. The program also provides a solid preparation for students intending to continue to graduate school to pursue masters degrees in engineering, engineering management, MBAs, and JDs.

Electrical Engineering
A student who graduates from our ABET accredited BSEET degree or completes all the BSEET requirements may obtain a second Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Oregon Tech as a Post-Bachelor by satisfying the additional courses required for the BSEE degree. The minimum requirements to obtain a second BS degree from the same institution are 36 credits. Completion of the BSEE degree requirements for Oregon Tech BSEET graduates involves taking additional coursework in Electrical Engineering from the EERE Department, and additional Mathematics and Science courses as specified on the BSEET/BSEE TEGA (Transcript Evaluation and Graduation Audit) form.

Renewable Energy Engineering Emphasis
Students can obtain a BSEET degree with an Emphasis in Renewable Energy Engineering by taking their Technical Electives and Senior Project in Renewable Energy Engineering (REE). This option is ideal for transfer students from AAS degrees related to Renewable Energy Technologies (e.g. Renewable Energy Engineering Technology, Renewable Energy Technology, etc).
