Casey McDonald

Alumnus, Class of 2011

Why did you choose Oregon Tech?

Every class I’ve taken at OIT, I’ve been able to come away with something valuable. I like that it caters to working people, and the professors really want to help you learn.

What do you like best about your major?

The new Robotics class has been great, working with the new robots. The labs in Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer were very valuable to me as well.

What would be your dream job in your major?

The night classes and location of OIT were a big draw for me. Once I was enrolled, it was quickly obvious that I made the right choice.

What’s your favorite thing to do off campus?

To new students I would say, “Take some time to actually enjoy the subjects and material. The workload can be difficult, but it’s worth it if you can embrace the knowledge.”

What’s your most memorable moment on campus?

I’m finishing just in time to start a family! I’ve built up a cargo bike to help haul the little guy around, while reducing our carbon footprints and expand my career in the sustainable development field.

I am the ASME Student Association Vice-President 2008-2009 and the ASME Student Association President 2009-2010.
