Student Profiles

Mark Bassett

Class of 2009

My project is the design and project management of the installation of a photovoltaic power system. The design of the system involves cost-benefit analysis, site surveys, system sizing, and system design. Because of state incentive program restrictions I am not able to install the system, but I will be the project manager and oversee the installation of the system.

I chose to come to OIT Portland because of the Renewable Energy Engineering program.

After I graduate I want to provide solutions for renewable energy and sustainable building design.

To incoming students I would say, “Take your prerequisite science and math courses as soon as possible!”

At OIT Portland the staff is fantastic, the student to teacher ratio is very low, and the campus is conveniently located.
