The Instrumentation and Controls Lab is used to teach the fundamentals of industrial measurement and process control to EERE students. Students learn about different types of sensors, actuators, and the design and implementation of hardware and software that is used to operate energy systems.

Pictured in the background, The Flow Limiter Instrument and Controller trainer (FLIC). Students interact with the FLIC while learning the fundamentals of Controls and Instrumentation. It is a model for Pipe & Instrument diagramming as well as a software/ hardware interface trainer. The FLIC is a fully functioning fluid system with real time analog and digital feedback systems.
