Have you taken the BlackBoard online safety course? You will need to if you wish to work in the Shop. Contact Richard Ellis for details. You can be enrolled in the online class and take as many of the safety exams as you need. Each exam is for a specific subject matter relating to different labs and different hazards.
The Student Projects Lab is a fundamental resource used by our students for planning and completing their term and senior projects. It has technology assets including computer workstations, analytical test equipment, and a compact fume extractor. Three power buses distribute 120 and 208 volt power to anywhere in the room and there is a compliment of shelves, drawers, and cabinets for students to store their projects while they are in process. The Laboratory Technician maintains a diverse supply of donated hardware and electrical components to help students model their ideas. The Project Lab is connected to the machine shop to aid in the fabrication process.
