Why did you choose Oregon Tech?
I chose Oregon Tech for two reasons; small class sizes and hands-on education. Coming from a small high school, I knew I needed to be in a classroom environment like Oregon Tech. Class sizes range from 10 to 30 students in my major. Having small classes allows you to develop relationships with your peers and be able to have one-on-one communication with your professors.
What do you like most about your program?
Oregon Tech as a whole strives to provide their students with a “hands-on, real-world education.” This is very prominent within my degree. By providing this type of education, I have been able to apply the skills I learn in the classroom out into the real world. We are constantly working with local businesses, exercising our skills and creating relationships with business owners, which allows us to develop a competitive edge over graduates from other universities. I like that all of our professors are industry trained, it helps them deliver a customized teaching experience to students outside of textbook concepts.
What would be your dream job?
My dream job would consist of working with small business to design and create creative websites and logos for their business.
What have been some of your favorite classes and why?
It’s honestly hard to pick a favorite class! All of our professors do such a great job keeping our classes relevant and up to date. I really enjoy the classes where we have to go out and work with local businesses. It helps us develop a wide range of skills that are necessary for our degree, while at the same time, allowing us to see the impact that we have in our community.
