Expanding Participation in Computing EPIC

The Expanding Participation in Computing through Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (EPIC) program is designed to motivate and enable low-income and academically talented students – especially women, members of minority populations, students with disabilities, first-generation college students and those from rural communities – to earn baccalaureate degrees in computer engineering technology, software engineering technology, and information technology at Oregon Institute of Technology. Students selected into the program will receive an award up to $6,100. Students may use the scholarship award for tuition, books, supplies and/or equipment.

In addition, scholarship recipients will be assigned a faculty mentor, and will participate in special activities designed to foster successful completion of their degrees.

We are not accepting applications for this scholarship for the academic year 2013-2014. Awards will continue for applicants from previous years. If you have any questions, please contact Cristina Negoita, Department of Mathematics, at cristina.negoita@oit.edu.

  1. Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, permanent resident alien, or refugee alien at the time of application.
  2. Demonstrate financial need, defined for undergraduate students by the U.S. Department of Education rules for Federal financial aid.
  3. Plan to pursue (or continue) full-time enrollment in computer engineering technology, embedded systems engineering technology, software engineering technology or information technology at the baccalaureate level.

Criteria for continuing eligibility include full-time student status enrolling in targeted majors, making satisfactory academic progress towards the attainment of a baccalaureate degree, maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0, and participating in the mentoring and EPIC-related activities.
