Project Lead The Way in Oregon

PLTW Oregon Logo

The Oregon Institute of Technology was informed by PLTW National Offices in the Spring of 2018 that our role as the Oregon Affiliate University partner and teacher training site for PLTW high school (PTE), middle school (GTT) and elementary school (launch) programs was being discontinued. Over 700 teachers were certified at Oregon Tech through the Summer Training Institutes between 2006-2018, which were organized and delivered by staff and faculty of the Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering and Technology (MMET) Department at the Klamath Falls campus of Oregon Tech. The resources and staff to support PLTW teachers and training within the MMET department are no longer available.

The MMET staff including David Culler, Barbara Metcalf, Brian Moravec, and Irina Demeshko would like to thank all of the teachers that participated in our training over the years and feel very proud of the quality and quantity of STEM training and support that we could provide at Oregon Tech over the years. We dearly value the relationships that were developed with Oregon, Idaho, Washington, California, Nevada (and many other states) teachers and students over the years. Thank you.

Support for PLTW schools is now being done by PLTW national offices & PLTW personnel in Oregon.
Oregon Tech's office of Strategic Enrollment Management and Educational Partnerships and Outreach are currently working to define Oregon Tech's role with PLTW and to support teachers and students.
