2019 LEGO Scholarship Application


Scholarships available. With gratitude to a generous donor, Oregon Tech is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships this year for LEGO Camps.

Scholarships availability is based on financial need, and will be awarded no later than June 30th. $25 Registration Fee is due at registration. Scholarship application will be available March 1, 2019.

Scholarship applications are due April 1st, with first award notifications beginning on May 1st. Please use the link above to complete your application.

LEGO Explorer (Grades 1-3 in September 2019)

Dates: July 8 - 12
Times: 8 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. each day 
Location: Oregon Tech, Purvine Hall - lower level, Klamath Falls Campus
Ages: 7 – 9 years (minimum age is 7 or enrolling in 1st grade; no previous experience)
Capacity: 24

Experience the wonderful world of LEGO's with the WeDo 2.0 system, our students build simple to complicated structures, vehicles and machines then code them to interact with the surrounding environment. The experience is fun and exciting and they learn lifelong skills and make new friends! While building, they learn the fundamental principles of engineering, enhance personal creativity, learn to collaborate with their partner and create without fear of mistakes. Each day students build upon the skills they learned the previous day, preparing them for the next level of LEGO Robotics.

LEGO Explorer (Grades 4-6 in September 2019)

Dates: July 8 - 12
Times: 1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. each day

LEGO Navigator (Grades 4-6 in September 2019)

Dates: July 15 - 19
Times: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. each day 
Location: Oregon Tech, Purvine Hall - lower level, Klamath Falls Campus
Ages: 9 - 12 years (minimum age is 9 or enrolling in 4th grade; and LEGO Beginner experience preferred)
Capacity: 8

Explore renewable energy through the use of LEGO EV3 systems, students will be guided through renewable energy engineering principles and create a variety of machines to harness the world's power. Attendees will participate in an on-campus walking field trip to view Renewable Energy in action at the Oregon Tech Geo-Heat Center and on-site solar field.


LEGO Challenger (Grades 5-9 in September 2019)

Dates: July 22 - 26
Times: 8 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. each day 
Location: Oregon Tech, Purvine Hall - lower level, Klamath Falls Campus
Ages: 11 - 14 years (minimum age is 11 or entering 6th grade; previous LEGO EV3 experience preferred)
Capacity: 8

The Robotics experience using the LEGO EV3 system is exciting and challenging. Students will learn lifelong skills and make new friends! Hands-on learning and challenges will introduce students to programming, physics and scientific principles. Students will work in pairs and at the completion of the camp, will have designed and built their own automated LEGO project. Each day of LEGO Robotics builds on the previous days challenge, students accumulate points during each challenge with a final competition and awards on Friday. 

Camp Tuition:

  • Any one LEGO camp: $150 per camper
    (additional camper from the same family $125)
  • Any two LEGO camps: $275 per camper
    (additional camper from the same family $250)
  • Any three LEGO camps: $400 per camper
    (additional camper from the same family $375)

*Please note tuition includes a $25 non-refundable registration fee due at the time of application. 25% of tuition is due at registration, balance must be paid on or before first day of camp.

Camp Schedule and Lunch:

Each of the LEGO camps is a half day camp from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Campers may be dropped off no earlier than 7:30 a.m. and must be picked up before 5:30 p.m.

Optional lunch is provided Monday - Friday, most dietary needs can be accommodated with advanced notice. Lunches must be requested during registration, any changes must be requested by first day of camp.

*Campers must meet age or grade requirements on or before the first day of camp. No exceptions to age limits.

Camper Code of Conduct:

Both you and your parent/guardian must sign this document indicating that you have read and understand the camp rules. Please return to the Coordinator on first day of camp.
