Without your support for Oregon Tech, many students would not be able to follow their career dreams. I am one of these students, and I understand the impact you have on the entire campus. Thanks to your support, I am able to face each day with confidence, and I am always motivated to make the most of what I have been awarded.

Why did you choose Oregon Tech?

I chose Oregon Tech for its elite engineering program and high job-placement rate after graduation. I knew that this school would best prepare me for my future, and that I would be able to pursue a career with confidence and ease. The fact that I can also continue to play soccer here is surreal and I know that I made the right choice attending this school. From the professors, to academics, to the sense of community at Oregon Tech, I feel confident knowing that this school will prepare me to have great success someday.

What do you like best about your major?

Although Renewable Energy Engineering is not a widely known study, it has made a huge impact on Klamath Falls. I know that I am getting a quality education because the town itself is a hotspot of renewable energy sources. Solar and geothermal uses are common here, which allow me to apply my studies to real-time situations. My professors are extremely helpful and I can tell that they all are passionate about what they do.

What is your favorite memory from Oregon Tech?

The first time that I played a soccer game on the new turf field at Oregon Tech was one of my favorite moments on campus. It was an amazing feeling to know that my team was the start of a legacy. Our fans and community were all there to support us and I felt a sense of pride knowing that my school and town believed in the soccer program.

What career do you hope to have after you graduate from Oregon Tech?

I would like to have a career in solar design because I have always had an interest in solar power. At OIT I have been given the opportunity to meet with engineering companies and hear about the different fields of engineering, and someday I want to be a part of a design team to make a difference in the community by utilizing the earth’s natural resources and developing new technologies to power the planet.
