Oregon Tech Selected as a Top School in Military Advanced Education's 2015 Guide to Colleges & Universities

Dec 12, 2014
Oregon Tech named Military-Friendly Colleges & Universities by Military Advanced Education
MAE Top Colleges and Universities 2015

Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech) was once again selected as a Top School in Military Advanced Education (MAE) 2015 Guide to Colleges & Universities, just released in print, and available online at www.mae-kmi.com. The Military-Friendly Colleges & Universities designation is awarded to the top colleges, universities, and trade schools in the country that present the best practices in military and veteran education.
MAE scores and evaluates each participant to determine which institutions have reached a specific benchmark in order to be deemed an “MAE Top School.” With a record number of schools participating in the 2015 Guide, and criteria based on recommendations from the VA and military services, MAE’s Guide to Colleges & Universities provides the foundational information that a prospective student would use in framing his or her educational needs. The extensive student-centric questionnaire evaluates higher education institutions on military culture, financial aid for veterans, flexibility, on-campus support, and online support services.
With a strong military history after being founded to train and re-educate returning World War II veterans, Oregon Tech has been recognized within a variety of veteran-friendly lists. The university is committed to providing veterans and military personnel affordable and accessible options for their academic endeavors. The Oregon Tech Veterans Association (OVA) is dedicated to satisfying the needs of any veteran at Oregon Tech during and after their time as a student, staff, or faculty. Oregon Tech’s Veterans Certifying Official (VCO) works with the Veterans Administration to deliver educational benefits to a variety of veterans, selected reservists, dependents, and survivors. With the direction of the elected officers of OVA and the assistance of Oregon Tech’s VCO, Oregon Tech is able to find ways of building friendships and partnerships that are based on the same honor, duty, loyalty, and selfless service instilled in all veterans.
