Oregon Senate Confirms Two New Trustees for Oregon Tech Governing Board

Two new members confirmed to Oregon Tech's Board of Trustees

The Oregon Senate today confirmed two new trustees for the governing board of the Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech): Jill Mason, Associate Professor and Director of Community-Based Rotations at Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry in Portland; and Bill Goloski, Creative Design Manager for Oregon Tech, stationed at the Wilsonville Campus. With their official terms beginning immediately, the new Trustees will join their colleagues for the next meeting of the Board on October 8-9 in Klamath Falls. 

There are eleven At-Large positions on the Board, three positions filled by Faculty, Staff and Student members, and an ex-officio position held by Oregon Tech’s President Chris Maples, for a total of fifteen members. Ms. Mason is filling a vacant position and will serve for a 4-year term. Mr. Goloski is replacing Ms. Dana Henry in the Staff position, and will serve throughout the remainder of her 2-year term on the Board. Both Ms. Mason and Mr. Goloski submitted their applications to the Governor’s Office in 2014, and were approved for confirmation by the Senate by Governor Brown’s Office.
JillMasonBillGoloskiMs. Mason is currently an Associate Professor and Director of Community-Based Rotations at Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry; and holds a joint appointment in the Department of Undergraduate Periodontology, teaching in the undergraduate clinics. Her more than 30-year career in health care includes 26 years in dental education and research, private general practice, endodontic specialty practice, US Public Health Service, Indian Health Service, and managed care.  She has several publications, including a textbook titled “Concepts in Dental Public Health.” Ms. Mason served on the Dental Hygiene National Board Test Construction Committees for 11 years, and served 8 years as a member of the Oregon Board of Dentistry. She is also an examiner for the Western Regional Examining Board, Commission on Dental Competency Assessments and was a member of the Dental Hygiene Exam Review Committee for the American Board of Dental Examiners. She has also been a supervisor for an international dental prevention program in Honduras for 13 years. Ms. Mason has a B.S. in Psychology from Arizona State University, an A.A.S. degree in dental hygiene from Oregon Institute of Technology, and a Master of Public Health in Dental Public Health and Health Behavior/Health Education from the University of Michigan.

Mr. Goloski has been the Creative Design Manager at Oregon Tech since 2011, and has worked in higher education marketing and communications for ten years. Bill has also served as an Adjunct Instructor in Business Communications at Oregon Tech for the past three years. Prior to joining Oregon Tech, Bill was the Assistant Director of Campus Design from 2005-2011 at Morrisville State College in New York; and prior to that was a Production Artist at Stray Cat Communication in Syracuse, New York.  Bill is actively engaged on campus in a variety of groups and committees, including as the Chair of the Administrative Council, member of the university’s Marketing Committee, and a leader and team member in the production and coordination of almost all major events on both the Klamath Falls and the Wilsonville campuses, including Commencement, Convocation, Spirit Week, ribbon cuttings/ground breakings, fundraising events, and all other special events. Bill has a BFA in Visual Communications, Cazenovia College, New York.
