Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program
Dear Oregon Tech Students,
A decision was made today by the Trump Administration to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program within six months, allowing Congress time to preserve the program’s protections. This decision impacts nearly 800,000 undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children. This also impacts Oregon Tech since some of them may be attending Oregon Tech.
While this decision is not final at this time and allows Congress time to preserve the program, our goal is to reassure our campus community that our focus will remain on the safety and success of our students. Please be assured that Oregon Tech supports and respects all of our students, regardless of their immigration status, country of origin, racial/ethnic background, gender identification, religion, and any other factor that makes us the inclusive community we are.
If you have any concerns at all, please contact the Dean of Students, Dr. Erin Foley, at 541-885-1011 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
