- What interested you in the Civil Engineering program at Oregon Tech?
- I was first drawn to Oregon Tech because of the small school size and low student to faculty ratio. I liked Oregon Tech's hands-on approach to education, and I knew I would get more practical experience here than I would at a big, research university. The civil engineering department has some of the best lab spaces in the country, and I knew I would get the best education here.
- Did you complete your internship, and what did you enjoy about it?
- I completed my internship and I loved it! I have always been fascinated by bridges, and my internship experience confirmed that I wanted to pursue a career in the field of bridge engineering. I have already accepted a full-time job offer to return as a Bridge Designer after I graduate!
- Over the summer, Werner interned with DOWL, LLC, a company specializing in planning, surveying, engineering (transportation, civil, structural, water resources, and geotechnical), and environmental and other support services.
