A Little Bit About Me
I am 25 years old and a senior in the dental hygiene program. I am recently engaged to my boyfriend of 7 years whom I share a 2-year-old beagle. We both love baseball, so it came as no surprise to our friends and family that we got engaged at a professional baseball game. Prior to coming to Oregon Tech, I attended and played soccer at a small junior college in Susanville, CA. This was an incredible experience for me and even though I miss being an athlete often, I'm so thankful to be finishing up my college degree here at Oregon Tech. Although I love living and breathing all things dental hygiene, I do enjoy other things in my spare time. My hobbies include watching sports, hiking, cooking, and spending quality time with my family and friends.
Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major
I chose dental hygiene as my major because I wanted a stable career that allowed me to help and care for others. Determining dental hygiene as my major, led me to Oregon Tech. I learned of the dental hygiene program's wonderful reputation; I knew they did an amazing job in preparing their grads to be some of the most hirable and prepared hygienists in the workforce. I knew I wanted to be a part of this program and of the Oregon Tech community as a whole.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech
My greatest learning experience at Oregon Tech has been through my time in the dental clinic. Being a student dental hygienist for the past two years has been challenging, yet so rewarding. I had to learn that failure is the best way to truly grow. Both failure and stepping outside of your comfort zone are things that occur daily in the clinic, which establishes why it can be so challenging. But over time, I learned how valuable these failures were for me. Overall, I developed so much more as a clinician and as a person from my failures at Oregon Tech.
My Plans After Graduation
After graduating, I plan to stay in Klamath Falls for a few years while working as a hygienist. After having gone on my volunteer trip to Grenada to provide free dental hygiene care this past summer, my passion for helping others has only been fueled more. With that, I would also love to make a dental hygiene volunteer trip annually for as long as I can. I also plan to marry my fiance and eventually move to a different part of the country, the current daydream we have is Colorado.
