Awards/Accomplishments while at Oregon Tech: Student Athletic Advisory Committee member, Dean's List Honors, All-Conference Women's Golf Honors

Why did you choose Oregon Tech? I first heard of Oregon Tech when I was being recruited for the women's golf program. I began researching the academic side and found they had the exact major I was looking for, Healthcare Management. It was a perfect fit for both my athletic and academic ambitions.

What do you like most about your program? My program requires me to have a wide variety of knowledge and so I am required to take classes like Medical Terminology and then Database Systems, for example. The diverse selection of classes keeps me very interested in my learning.

What are you passionate about changing within this particular field and why? Changing the healthcare system is near impossible for anyone, but my goal is to help lower socioeconomic communities have access to resources necessary for good health. This could include starting a clinic in an impoverished neighborhood, teaching kids in lower income schools, or reaching out to the community.

What would be your dream job? My dream job would be a CEO of a hospital. I want to create a community within my hospital that provides efficient care to patients and respect across departments while also establishing a relationship with the people outside of the hospital.

What have been some of your favorite classes and why? My favorite class has been Medical Sociology because it has taught me why different groups of people get sick and what affects them more or less. This interests me because I enjoy looking at the trends and how they change over time.

Is there anything about Oregon Tech that you wish everyone knew about? I wish everyone knew about the Women's Golf program and our recent success these last couple years!

Are you involved on campus? I am involved in the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), which raises athlete concerns to the university so we can build a strong relationship between the sports teams and the students at Oregon Tech.

Is there anything more that you would like to share with future students about campus? Oregon Tech has something to offer every student on campus from robotic clubs, to Hawaiian club, to sports events! It really is great!
