As a former small business owner and elected official (Wilsonville City Council 2007-12), Celia Núñez is passionate about making a difference in the lives of Oregonians. She has held a variety of challenging and significant leadership positions in both the private sector and in local and state government. Currently she is the Director of Oregon Small Business Development Center at Chemeketa Community College. In this role, she serves as an executive and thought-leader promoting diversity initiatives. In state government, her experience included service as the Executive Director for the Oregon Commission on Hispanic Affairs and as the highest-ranking Latina in the Oregon Legislative Assembly - Caucus Policy Coordinator for the Oregon Senate Majority Office.
Named by Hispanic Magazine as one of the top Latinas in government and politics, Ms. Núñez was a member of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO). She was a member of the Oregon Community Foundation’s Northern Willamette Valley Advisory Council for a decade and a Fellow of the Portland Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Program.
