Why did you choose Oregon Tech?

I chose Oregon Tech because of the small class sizes and student to teacher ratio; the teachers also care about the students. It seemed perfect for me because Oregon Tech has the small school feel like a private school, but the tuition and benefits of being a public university. Oregon Tech seemed to have the best program to prepare me for medical school. Lastly, when I visited I felt like I belonged at Oregon Tech because of the great community.

What do you like best about your major?

I like my major because of the variety of classes in the Health Science major. It challenges me and gives me an edge over students from other schools applying to medical school. I love learning about the human body and the teachers are very passionate about the subjects and care about their students.

What would be your dream job in your major?

My dream job is as a surgeon working in a rural hospital. I also would love to volunteer with Medical Teams International or Doctors Without Borders. I just want to help people anyway I can.

What’s your favorite thing to do off campus?

I live on campus so there aren't a lot of things I do off campus, but I enjoy going to the movies with friends. I also love walking downtown to the shops and eating at so many different restaurants.

What’s your most memorable moment on campus?

My most memorable moment was last year, after I had only been in Klamath Falls for a few weeks. My boyfriend and I had just came back to the Res Hall after our first date and we hiked up to the O. We laid in the middle of the O, staring up at the stars. I saw the lights of the city and campus and felt at peace that I had made the right choice to come to Oregon Tech.
