Oregon Tech has achieved a new ranking: Research Colleges and Universities, a new designation from The American Council on Education and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, recognizing institutions that spend more than $2.5 million on research annually.

Oregon Tech is one of the nation’s top universities based on contribution to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility, research, and promoting public service, according to Washington Monthly magazine’s “2024 College Guide and Rankings.”
In addition to ranking high at No. 18 on the Bachelor’s Colleges Ranking, Oregon Tech is No. 38 on the magazine’s “Best Bang for the Buck West Colleges,” recognizing four-year institutions that “help non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices.”
Oregon Tech was ranked among the best schools in the nation in Forbes’ annual list of Top Colleges. The rankings list 500 schools – the top 20% of all four-year and graduate universities in the nation – with Oregon Tech listed at No. 393 overall and No. 186 in Public Colleges.
According to Forbes, the annual list showcases 500 schools that produce successful, high-earning and influential graduates from all economic backgrounds, with less student debt.
