User Experience (UX) Certificates
Oregon Tech offers two UX certificates: UX Research & Design and UX Writing.

The User Experience Research and Design certificate is for anyone who helps design interfaces! Students and professionals will be prepared to research user needs and turn feedback into practical design solutions.
The User Experience Research and Design certificate teaches user research methods and familiarizes students with the principles and theory of UX. Courses emphasize hands-on learning and use industry-standard UX tools for designing a variety of interfaces, including websites and apps.
Graduates of the Online UX Research & Design certificate should be able to:
- Research user needs and identify complex design solutions through a variety of evaluation methods.
- Articulate design choices to a variety of collaborators involved with content and interaction model creation.
- Use accepted rhetorical, linguistic, and design theories to craft user- and reader-centered documents and interfaces.
- Design and create documents and interfaces using a variety of industry-standard tools.
- Demonstrate professionally appropriate ethical reasoning, including awareness of intellectual property in the creation and management of documents.
- Manage the production of complex, large-scale projects and their related documentation.

This certificate may be stacked with the UX Writing certificate.

The User Experience Writing certificate is for anyone who writes on the job! Students and professionals will be prepared to develop user-centric prose and design content for a variety of audiences.
The User Experience Writing certificate teaches you to compose and edit documents in multiple media at a professional level, skills which are necessary for success in a range of careers in the modern workplace. The certificate also familiarizes students with the theories and practices of UX Writing and requires students to use writing to engage with real-world challenges in the community and beyond.
Graduates of the Online UX Writing certificate should be able to:
- Research user needs and identify complex design solutions through a variety of evaluation methods.

Admission Process
Financial aid is not offered for this program, but a payment plan is available. Follow the steps below to get started:
- Submit the Non-Degree Seeking Application.
- Watch for an email from the Admissions Office about registration.
- Register yourself for classes when registration opens.
Non-degree seeking students are limited to 8 credits per term. You can complete an 18-credit certificate in as little as 9 months or complete it at a slower pace to meet your needs.
