Application of Theory through Hands-on Education

Oregon Institute of Technology – also known as OIT and Oregon Tech – is the only accredited, public institute of technology in the Pacific Northwest. It's a place where students are known by name and theory has a ready application to real-world challenges.
Oregon Tech offers campus locations in scenic Southern Oregon and in the greater Portland area. The Klamath Falls Campus is nestled on the eastern slope of the Cascade Mountains. The campus provides a rigorous and robust student life on a total of 305 acres with approximately 90 of those acres fully developed.
Oregon Tech's urban campus is located in Wilsonville, 18 miles from downtown Portland. The Wilsonville/Portland Campus is designed to provide our high-demand BS and MS degrees in an industry-focused urban university educational experience at the heart of Silicon Forest. Our programs are accessible to traditional full-time students, community college transfer students, working professionals, and busy adults by offering day, evening, weekend, and online courses.
Several programs are also offered on the Portland Westside (Beaverton) to better serve Silicon Forest business and working professional students in the Hillsboro and Beaverton area.
The university offers specific degree options on sites in Salem, La Grande, and Seattle and the Distance Education program delivers a variety of programs online.

Academics in Action
Oregon Tech's curriculum is focused on applied technologies, engineering, health professions, applied sciences, and management. Our faculty teach the theory and the application of that theory through hands-on learning with the latest technology. Students are in laboratories, clinics, and out in the field within their first term. Faculty members know their areas of expertise because they have worked in their fields and maintain those professional connections.

Small class sizes and a low student to faculty ratio of 20:1 make for an intimate learning environment at Oregon Tech. The university is a student-centered learning atmosphere where faculty teach their own classes and instruct their own labs, mentor and advise students, and provide guidance on research and externships.
