Are you a health care professional with a desire to improve your management or supervisory skills, increase your employment opportunities, or move in the direction of graduate work?
Oregon Tech's online healthcare management degree prepares students for careers in administration and managerial positions.
About the online Healthcare Management Program
Oregon Tech's Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management offers three options for students wishing to pursue management or supervisory roles in various health care fields:
- Administrative Option
- Clinical Option
- Radiologic Science Option
You'll study management and business subjects in both options, which will have immediate relevance in the health care industry.
Students are awarded credits in recognition of an approved health care registry. These registry credits are integrated with courses in management as well as a general education core. Students must have a current state or national registry in an approved allied health field for the clinical option, or hold the ARRT registry for the Radiologic Science Option.
Administrative Option
The Administrative option is the only Healthcare Management option available to freshmen or those with no healthcare experience. It is ideal for students whose interests lie in business and health care administration. Students choose between two tracks: Health Data Analytics or Psychology. The degree is designed to prepare graduates for entry- and mid-level management positions and/or for graduate programs in Health Care Administration, Hospital Administration, or Public Health. Based on a core of common management courses, the program builds a broader base of understanding of health care in the U.S. and its systems, policies, and challenges. The administrative option is fully online.
Clinical Option
This program offers continuing education, advancement or new career options, and the bachelor's degree required for entry into master's degree programs.
Students begin the program with a foundation built upon two sources: credit transferred from another college and credit granted for professional licensure or registry. For this degree, 44 credits will be granted for licensure or registry.
Radiologic Science Option
This program integrates credits granted specifically for the Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registry. This degree completion option provides the opportunity to obtain management information which can be applied directly to the radiologic science field with no requirement for patient contact or clinical practice. The emphasis in the program is directed toward management of a medical imaging facility. 89 credits are awarded for a current ARRT.
Who is Eligible?
- You must provide documentation of a current state and/or national registry, license, or certificate in an approved allied health field. Students applying for the Radiologic Science option must provide a current RRT credential through ARRT.
- You must meet the Oregon Tech admissions criteria. Special admissions arrangements are also available.
