What to Do After You Have Applied to Oregon Tech

Congratulations! You’ve taken an important step in planning your future as an Oregon Tech student. Now, the question is…what happens next?

Q. I just submitted my application, now what do I do?

A.

Your application will be received by the Admissions office the very next day. We will hold your application in “incomplete” or pending status until we have received all application materials (application fee, high school transcripts, SAT scores, college transcripts, etc.)

Q. How do I check my status?

A.

For a complete list of required application items, log back into your application if you applied online:

  1. Go to www.oit.edu/apply
  2. Input your Login ID and PIN which you created when you started the application
  3. Select your term of entry under Processed Applications
  4. Scroll to the bottom to see the list
  5. If the date is missing, we have not received the item
  6. You can make the $50.00 application fee by clicking the “Make Payment” button at the bottom of this page

If you used a paper application, call us to find out what items are missing.

Please check your processed application often; we sometimes change your requirements as we receive your outstanding documents.

Q. I’ve already submitted my application. How do I pay the $50 Application Fee?

A.

You have three options to submit payments for your application fee:

  • Online
  • Go to www.oit.edu/apply

    Input your Login ID and PIN which you created when you started the application

    Select your term of entry under Processed Applications

    You can make the $50.00 application fee by clicking the “Make Payment” button at the bottom of this page

  • Mail – Send a check to:

  • In Person
  • Klamath Falls Campus: Visit the Cashier’s Office in Snell Hall

    Portland Campus: Visit an Oregon Tech Portland campus and they will forward your payment to the Admissions Office

Unfortunately, Oregon Tech cannot accept payments over the telephone.

Q. Will you review my application before it is complete?

A.

No. Applications for admission will only be reviewed for admission once all of the supporting application materials have been received. Once all of the materials have been received your application status on your online application (at www.oit.edu/apply) will change from "Incomplete" to "Complete – Ready for Review".

Q. My application is complete, how long until I receive a decision?

A.

Once your application is complete, it will be reviewed for admission. Please be patient as you await your admission decision. Decisions are made on a rolling basis and can take anywhere from a few days to one week depending on the time of year. You can log back in to your original application at www.oit.edu/apply and you will see when your status changes from "Complete – Ready for Review" to "Decision Made". Although you cannot see what the decision made was using this program, you can be sure that you will be receiving a letter soon.

Q. How do I find out what decision has been made?

A.

Once an admissions decision is made, a letter will be sent to your current mailing address.

Q. What if I need to change my address, major, or start term before a decision is made?

A.

Please fill out the Application Change Form to make these changes.

DUAL APPLICANTS: Go to www.oit.edu/apply and use the same Login ID and PIN you used to create your Oregon Tech application. Select “New” and choose the dual enrollment school you would like to enroll with. Select your new term and most of the information from your past application comes over so you just need to fill in the blanks or change any information that is not correct.

Q. How do I apply for the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)?

A.

Students from WUE states who enter WUE‐eligible programs, will automatically receive a WUE Contract upon admission to Oregon Tech. Students simply need to sign and return the contract to the Admissions Office by the specified deadline to receive the tuition reduction.

Q. How do I apply for an Admissions Scholarship (Presidential, Engineering, or Klamath County)?

A.

Admissions scholarships are awarded only to new, fully admitted Oregon Tech students with an entry term of Fall. If you meet the eligibility criteria, all you need to do is submit a complete application (application, fee, transcripts, etc) by March 1 for enrollment in the following Fall term. You must meet all admission requirements to qualify.

Q. I already applied to Oregon Tech, but now I need to change to a dual enrollment student. What do I do?

A.
  1. Go to www.oit.edu/apply
  2. Input your Login ID and PIN which you created when you started the application
  3. Click on “New” under the “Applications in Progress” header
  4. Select one of the Dual Applications Types and click on Continue

Most of your information will be carried over to the new application, so just make corrections and fill in the blanks to submit your dual application.
