Volunteer Owls Project

Welcome to the Volunteer Owls Project at Oregon Tech! Our mission is to provide
community service and volunteer opportunities to the Oregon Tech community.

On these pages, you will find information for four different aspects of service:

  1. Volunteer Fairs
  2. Alternative Spring Break Service Trip
  3. Quarterly service days in our local community
  4. Ongoing opportunities for service & volunteerism

Alternative Spring Break Service Trip

Each Spring Break, we take a group of students to participate in a Habitat for Humanity build for a multi-day project. Our first trip was Spring 2013, when we traveled to Sisters, Oregon and assisted in a remodeling project for a veteran. Each year we will choose a new location to support a Habitat build for those in need.

Participants are asked to contribute a small financial commitment to the trip, but the majority of costs are covered by Campus Life.

Quarterly Service Days

One Saturday per quarter, students will have the chance to volunteer in a variety of local community service projects taking place throughout the morning in Klamath Falls. Come out and show your OWL colors with support to local community organizations! A free t-shirt and lunch will be provided to participants back on campus following the completion of projects.

For more information contact Josie Hudspeth at josie.hudspeth@oit.edu.

This year's dates:

Ongoing Opportunities to Serve

We have found that many of our students have a desire to serve but don’t know how to identify opportunities, while many local organizations struggle to find volunteers. In order to help bridge this gap, we have created an online database of volunteer opportunities in our community! This list will continue to be updated as we receive more registrations from community agencies, so check back often!

Volunteer Fairs

During the Fall and Spring quarters, Campus Life will host a volunteer fair where community agencies will come to campus with information about service opportunities for students. This is a great chance to meet agency representatives in person and find a project that fits your personal interests and goals.

Check back soon for date of the next Volunteer Fair.
