Transfer Student Scholarship

Scholarships specific to students transferring from a community college to a four-year college or university.

Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship
Due Date: Varies by campus
Scholarship Amount: Varies
Eligibility: Outstanding community college students who demonstrate financial need, will to succeed and breadth of interest and activities. Applicants should demonstrate achievement and academic ability, desire to engage in and contribute to the world, self-confidence, and resilience.

2017-18

Southern Oregon Latino Scholarship Fund
Due Date: March 24, 2017
Scholarship Amount: $1,000
Eligibility: Must be a resident of Jackson, Josephine, or Klamath counties and be of Latino heritage. Must have a minimum of 3.00 cumulative high school grade point average or a minimum combined verbal and math score of 1010 on the SAT or a minimum of 21 on the ACT.  Continuing college students must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

Udall Scholarship – Environmental Issues
Due Date:  February 22, 2017 (Oregon Tech campus deadline)
Scholarship Amount:  Up to $7,000 per scholar
Eligibility:   Applicants must be current college sophomores or juniors committed to careers related to the environment and plan on attending full time during the 2017-18 academic year.

Udall Scholarship – Tribal Public Policy or Native Health Care
Due Date:  February 22, 2017 (Oregon Tech campus deadline)
Scholarship Amount:  Up to $7,000 per scholar
Eligibility:   Applicants must be current college sophomores or juniors committed to careers related to tribal public policy, or Native health care, must be native American or Alaska Native, and plan on attending full time during the 2017-18 academic year.

Pacific Northwest Section
American Water Works Association Scholarship

February 24, 2017
Scholarship Amount: Awards range from $2,800-$4,000 each
Eligibility: Students enrolled in fields of study such as engineering, water resources, water or environmental technology, public administration, and environmental health are encouraged to apply. Students must be engaged in the second year or above of undergraduate work or graduate work leading to a degree in a relevant field.

Society of Women Engineers Scholarship

Scholarship Amount:  $1,000
Eligibility:  Student who has completed at least one year of studies in an ABET accredited school with an intention to enter any engineering field.

Oregon Ethics in Business Scholarship

February 28, 2017
Scholarship Amount: Five awards of $2,000
Eligibility: For one student from each of Oregon's five U.S. Congressional Districts who has maintained a 3.25 G.P.A. while attending an Oregon College or University.

Zonta Club of Coos Bay Area Scholarships
Due Date: March 1st and April 1st, 2017
Scholarship Amount: $1,000-$2,000
Eligibility: Eight separate scholarships with varying criteria, but all applicants will demonstrate an interest in working to support Zonta’s mission: to improve the legal, political, economic, educational, health or professional status of women. Preference for all scholarships is given to applicants who exhibit financial need and have graduated from a Coos County high school or have lived in Coos County for 5 years.

Howard Vollum American Indian Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: $3,000
Eligibility: For Native American residents of Clackamas, Multnomah or Washington counties in Oregon or Clark County in Washington, who are seeking a post-secondary degree in science, technology, engineering or math.

Verl and Dorothy Miller Native American Scholarship

Eligibility: Native American residents of Oregon attending or planning to attend an accredited career or technical program in Oregon.

Far West Agribusiness Association Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: up to $1,000 per student
Eligibility: Any full-time student from Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Utah or Nevada who is pursuing an undergraduate degree from a college or university in the US.

Sleepopolis Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: $1,000
Eligibility: Current high school (or home-schooled) seniors attending school in the United States OR current college students already studying at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution. Must be a US citizen with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

P.E.O. Chapter U/Endowment Scholarship

April 15, 2017
Scholarship Amount: $500 minimum
Eligibility: Open to women currently enrolled at Oregon Institute of Technology or Klamath Community College. Academic standing, potential to reach goals and financial need will be considered. Preference will be given to students with unique circumstances such as women reentering school after a significant break in education; women who have dependents; and women with any other special circumstances.

Senior Care Innovation Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: Five awards of $1,000 each
Eligibility: Applicants must be enrolled in an associate's degree, bachelor's degree or graduate level program in a medical, nursing or social sciences related major. The student must be planning on pursuing a career that involves working with senior citizens.

BHW Women in STEM Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: $3,000
Eligibility: Women who are pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree and are majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics during the 2017 school year.

Eligibility: Students enrolled in an associate, bachelor's or graduate level program in a business or human resources related major. College-bound high school seniors who plan to major in human resources are also encouraged to apply.

BigSun Scholarship

Eligibility: All student athletes, regardless of which sport they participate in, are eligible for this award. Must be a high school senior or attending a post-secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community.
