Meet the Faculty

Jack Walker

Jack Walker, Professor


Jack A. Walker, PLS is professor and chair of the Geomatics Department.

He holds a MS in Geodesy from Purdue University. Areas of interest include geodesy, analytical photogrammetry, remote sensing, map projections, and least squares adjustment. Consulting activities include mineral surveying, GIS database development, and precise deformation monitoring.

Recreation interests include mountaineering, skiing, fishing and backpacking.

Mitch Duryea

Mitch Duryea, Distance Education Adjunct


Mitch Duryea, PLS, Owner of Duryea & Associates, which specializes in ALTA surveys.  He is licensed in Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Hawaii. 

He teaches online boundary law and legal principles courses. Mitch is also a volunteer with the Boys Scouts of America.

Timothy Kent

Timothy Kent, Distance Education Adjunct

Timothy A. Kent is the Surveying Program Coordinator at Clark College.  He is licensed in Alaska, California, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington, and is a Certified Water Rights Examiner in Oregon. Tim is active in ACSM, PLSO, LSAW, and is currently the NSPS Area 10 Director. He was elected the LSAW Surveyor of the Year in 1996 and 1998.

He is also an Adjunct Professor developing Advanced Cadastral Surveying distance education courses for the Geomatics Department at Oregon Tech.
